On Paul Vigay found dead off Southsea seafront:

I'm absolutely shocked. My thoughts are with Paul's family and friends :-(

On Who would want an A9home PDA?:

liquid: Meant to add - of course the resolution is a problem. Changing the eigen values of the screen mode is a way round it if clarity is not an issue.

On Who would want an A9home PDA?:

jymbob: My touchscreen drivers emulate all three buttons, including Adjust-double clicking. I'll reinstate the info as my new site develops as there's nothing there just now...

On R-Comp unveils new PDF authoring package:

It is a legal requirement to have secure ordering now - both by the banks and the card companies. This is why I've invested in the online shopping resources I now have available.

Andrew's new products aren't on there yet - I'll wait until after Wakefield and update things then so if people want to order securely then go to www.liquid-silicon.com :)

On 32bit MIDI synthesiser goes on sale:

Drobe: Neverending story - yep! It's just taken such a long time as there has been so much to do just to get one bit working.

It's not just a case of 32-bitting it either, I've streamlined the core MIDI 5 and MIDISupport modules so they're far more efficient and sorted the odd buglet. Lenny has also done a good deal of work on all the frontend stuff too so a big thank you to him (and to Andre Timmermans for useful suggestions for fixing the sound breakups in the synth) :-)

Star Fighter 3000: The Next Generation was born from the 3D0 version of the original SF3K that was ported back to RISC OS and this year freed from programmers' hard discs for the platform to enjoy, writes Andrew Weston. In this review Andrew weighs up much-improved graphics and sound against playability and stability.
