AFAIK even OS X can run on an ARM processor. I have this from an apple newgroup where they were discussing whether there will be an apple netbook. Yes, I agree, this is really fantastic news. But I will probably wait until the port is more or less completed In reply to broon: I think there will be no need to build your own laptop since there are ARM Laptops or better Netbooks coming along this summer - at least several companies announced that they plan to produce them and it seems logical that they will appear. As far as I understand the good thing about the cortex processor is that it includes many other components for video, IO etc. This will hopefully make it quite easy (for those in the know) to not only get RISC OS running on the beagleboard but also on other devices using the same processor. I found this article quite interesting: [link] Whether there will be an ARM Netbook or Table from Apple is a good question but there are some strong arguments. Also it seems that the performance difference to the Atom processor is not so high. However if there will be an Apple ARM Netbook it might be a good targat because the product live cycle seems to be a bit longer than that of other vendors.
