On Paul Vigay found dead off Southsea seafront:

Absolutely tragic! I have met Paul many times at shows and corresponded with him many, many times. Hew was a most helpful and talented person who will be sadly missed by his many fiends in the RISC OS community and beyond. My thought go to his family and friends and in particular to Louie.

On Open source Organizer pondered:

Organizer would seem a good candidate for open sourcing. I is a very nice application as it stands and is a permanent fixture on my Icon Bar. However I would really like it to be able to easily synchronize it with my PDA etc.

So Chris I say go for it! give your baby the chance to be all it can be :-)

On Archive ed Paul quits magazine:

I will also miss Paul's deft editorial touch but welcome his choice of Jim as the new editor and will continue to subscribe.

I do however hope that Paul will have time to submit at least the occasional article and the he will contine to turn up at shows in whatever capacity.

Best wishes to both of them in the future.

On June news in brief:

I to was disappointed at how negative all the comments have been to Riscpedia and the Serviette project and also surprised at the fact that so few people had been aware of it.

I remember reading in February's edition of Archive a 4 page article by the creator of this initiative explaining their aims and requesting feedback, I also think I read another version of this article somewhere else possibly in Eureka? so she has not been quite as secretive as you may think.

However this does seem to be a project that will need a lot of cooperation from developers and people running RISC OS related websites.

On The houses that RISC OS built:

Excellent article.

It really does help to hear of "real world" uses of RISCOS hardware and software.

I would think that there is a high likelihood that offices in close proximity to a busy sawmill would be more than usually prone to large amounts of dust? so the A9home would be a highly suitable hardware solution.

On R-Comp Dad suffers 'major' heart attack:

I would also like to offer my best wishes to Alan, Diane and Andrew and hope for Alan’s full and speedy recovery.

Over the years I have been to many shows where he has manned the R-Comp stand and Alan has always been a friendly welcoming presence.

On Interview with a ROS Open shareholder:

I would just like to thank Peter Wild for his thought provoking comments.

I can cetainly understand his reasons for beliving that open sourcing is the best way to procede and I have a some simpathy to that opinion.

However I am sure there are many good arguments to the contrary.

On Wakefield workshop to demo top software:

I do hope to be able to make this years Wakefield Show and think the workshop is a very worthwhile addition.

It would be nice if an enthusiastic user of bitmap graphic software such as PhotoDesk and Compo etc could be added to the workshop.

On Castle confirms move to Tematic office:

Some people seem to be assuming that this move is somehow about Castle relocating to Plusher premises.

Is it not equally possible that due to the stated circumstances Castle found themselves having signed a lease for say 2 years on the Signet Court premises for additional space they at this time no longer need and also that the lease on their Framlingham base was due for renewal at about this time?.

If the above is the case it could well make sound financial sense to simply not renew the Framlingham lease and move the whole operation to Signet Court.

On ARM plays hand, reveals 1GHz plans:

In reply to Gulli.

I for one had read properly what demondb said.

But I was actually reffering to a post from joty who said "It is still up to the ARM licensees to make real silicon based on this core. Like demondb is saying, ARM is saying this will take 3 years from now"
